Needed almost all of these weights to get the car to 5.0 ounces. I'm glad we didn't cut away any more of the body or I would not have been able to get all these in the car. I will probably go with tungsten next time for the smaller size. He took 1st place in his den and 3rd for the whole pack! That is much better than lead...This sticks are way too long to go across of the pinewood derby, but you can break them easily with a hammer along the lines seen here on a picture. I drilled three holes from the back, one size smaller than 3/8 of a drill recommended by manufacturer (Revell) and just lightly tapped in for a tight fit.I realy enjoyed these weights for my son's car. These were a little tuff to cut down but was able to drill onto the car and secure these internally so no weight was showing. I would recomend to anyone I'm not racing (lol) and will be somthing I'll buy again. These work great for a lot of different applications, easily cuttable with hacksaw and others, shine nice with a little fine grit sanding if they are going to be exposed. Only issue I had was finding a bit to drill the proper size holes as it's not something at our local walmart and our hardware store was sold out.Drilled holes straight into back of sons car and the slid right in to make the weight.Weights are ok but ridiculous they need to be cut with hacksaw individually. Most Linwood derby cars will only need a few weights each and it's just inconvenient. They should be made to be easily separated or come separateVery difficult to cut. Basically you need a grinder to cut these. These are teeny, teeny tiny! However, they are pretty strong. They work well.
