I’m so impressed with this crock. This is a great size for smaller batches of whatever you’re making. It’s well made and pretty in my kitchen. We have a larger crock that’s usually got sauerkraut going in it. So this is just perfect for my needs in the kitchen. I just made some apple cider vinegar in this and it worked great.I liked the crock. It was the right size, color, etc. I began to make sauerkraut. Unfortunately, mine slowly leaked out all of it's salt solution. I could not find the leak, no crack, no chip, it just (slowly) leaked. We have returned the leaky one, and I'm assuming this one is a fluke. I have ordered another. This fermentation pot is all I could have asked for. I purchased a 3.25lb Napa cabbage along with carrots and other veg. to make kimchi. After cutting up the cabbage I figured no way would it all fit in. Then after salting the cabbage for a few hours it had wilted enought to fit EVERYTHING in just right up to about a little over an ich from the top. The weights fit in right on top and today(1 day fermenting) the process is going along perfectly. I am thrilled I made this purchase and recommend it for that amount of cabbage or less. Any more I suggest the 5 ltr.#1 Hubby make saurkraut in his new Jillmo Fermentation Crock and loved it. It came out perfect. Actually, it is still fermenting, but he couldn't resist checking it. Before this purchase, he had been using a gallon glass jar from a previous purchase of a gallon of Kosher pickles. It was less than satisfactory, and he really didn't want to make so much at one time for just himself. The Jillmo is exactly the right size. And the glass weights work perfectly. It looks attractive sitting on our cabinet too! Next, he wants to try his pickle recipe in the Crock and see how that works. This is all pretty new to him. So he is very excited! Thank you so much for carrying this. This is the perfect size for three heads of cabbage. Have only had this for 5 days, 4 days into my first batch of sauerkraut, and it is tasting good. Still a little crunchy so letting the fermentation process to continue. Expect to transfer to storage jars by day 7.After reading some of the reviews I inspected the crock and weights closely. No damage. Then filled with water and let set 24 hours, no leaks. So set to work on my first sauerkraut batch in this crock. Really love the water lock around the crock top no escaping odors but allows the gas to escape.Looking forward to a long useful life.I've been fermenting my own sauerkraut for years in a large, open top Ohio Stoneware crock. I wanted to start making hot sauces but not in such a large crock. This is the perfect size for making a good batch of fermented sauce. I'm one week into the first batch and it's fermenting nicely. The crock is good quality, fully glazed inside so no worries. The airlock lid is a nice feature. The weights will fit inside but have to be placed in at an angle. I'm not using them on this batch as I pureed the tomatoes. It arrived in good packaging via USPS, no damage.I bought this as a gift for my dad. He has been eyeing this same one for a while. To say he was insanely excited to have it is an understatement. It’s packaged well on both the inside and out. All the pieces are super easy to clean and it’s way more durable than I expected it to be. I also appreciate howStraight forward it is and that I got everything he would need on one gift opposed to get this attachment etc. he’s working on his first batch now and is very excited. Would highly recommend this.I have used this crock only once so far. I made sauerkraut for the first time. It was intriguing how much it holds because it does not look overly large. I have the second batch of sauerkraut fermenting now in the crock because the first batch turned out so well. I find that it will hold two large heads of shredded cabbage or three small heads. The sauerkraut was delicious. I am so glad that I purchased this crock!
