Holds up to workouts for at least a year, travels easy and can be used several different ways. I like the way the movements use functional muscles. A wise fireman once told me there’s a big difference between working and working out!This sandbag is awesome! Highly recommend this can be used for both men and women, me and my fiancée both use this, it’s durable and a very tough material, you can get a really good workout in just with this sandbag, you can adjust the weight to however heavy you want. What I love about this so some sandbags sand would come out of it and with this no sand ever has, it’s secure inside and you do have to worry about making a mess trying to workout. Super cool product that you can do tons of different workouts with!I workout at home . This product is a great addition to my home gym by providing numerous exercise options that can be performed in a challenging and efficient manner . This is a great piece of equipment if you are interested in improving your functional strength while improving your overall fitness level.I used to be very active in powerlifting and bodybuilding. I recently quit going to a commercial gym due to time constraints and various other reasons. My current focus now is maintaining and building functional strength and endurance. I now work out at home. I have been looking into sandbag training for a while, as it is a cost effective means of increasing resistance, as well as offering a functional strengthening component from uneven loading. I purchased the strongman bag, which comes with a main bag with handles, and 3 filler bags to be placed inside the main bag. The stated capacity is between 50-125lbs. I filled each filler bag with play sand from the local home improvement store. The sand I used was slightly damp, so each of my filler bags weighs around 50lbs, which is 25lbs heavier than stated capacity. I place 2 filler bags into the main bag and keep the 3rd filler bag out for unilateral work. As for the components of the system that were delivered:Filler bags: As stated, the strongman system comes with 3 filler bags. They are extremely heavy duty nylon with 2 hook and loop closure. After filling the bag, the opening in closed, and then folded down onto another hook and loop closure. The closure system is robust and secure. I saw reviews stating that the bags leak, but I haven't seen any of that. There are a few things to keep in mind; you cannot overload the bags or they will not close properly and securely! They even make mention of this. There MUST be space inside for the sand to move around a bit. Also, make sure there is no sand at all in the hook and loop. If so, it will compromise the closure. A quick brush will remove the sand from the hook and loop. Finally, any piece of equipment that sees this level of abuse needs to be routinely cared for, and that includes regularly inspecting the integrity of the closure, re-securing when necessary. I know, everyone wants a product that takes abuse on a daily basis and never has to be looked at or cared for. That's not reality.Main bag: There are plenty of well-placed handles on this bag. I do however wish there were more handles in various other places on the bag to allow for more diverse grips/implementation. It would be especially nice to see overhand grips closer to the edges of the bag, to increase leverage while hoisting. While attempting to clean and press using the far outside grips, I heard and felt some ripping of the stitching. There didn't appear to be any damage, but time will tell. The zipper is very heavy duty, and barring any gross misuse, I can't see it ever failing. The 3 filler bags fit very well and snuggly inside the main bag without being overly difficult to close the zipper. As stated above, I use 2 filler bags inside the main bag and keep one loose for unilateral work.Price: Yes, this system, for what it is, seems to be costly. In the long term, it isn't. One of the main reasons I chose this company is because its American made systems! What does that mean? Look at the craftsmanship. You are getting an overbuilt, very well constructed and quality system that you will need to purchase only once. You also have the benefit of knowing you are putting money into the pockets of an American company with American employees. To me, that is more than worth a small increase in price.I have been using the strongman system for a bit now and have been anything but careful with it. It gets dropped, tossed, dragged, and flipped. There are no signs of wear and has been no leakage of any kind. I am very satisfied with this system and will probably be looking to add more sandbag type implements to my home gym. If you are looking for a very reasonably priced alternative to traditional weights and would also enjoy building functional strength, this is a fantastic system. You will not be disappointed.I have a GORUCK simple sandbag but was reluctant to buy their traditional handled sandbag due to cost for a single weight bag. I loved the idea of the Brute Force and being able to adjust the weight. However, in practice this is not as good as it seems. I filled the smaller bag to 30 pounds and there was a still a lot of room in the filler bag and in the main bag was incredibly loose. In fairness, BF does say the bag works best at 50-70 pounds--take this advice to heart. The handle positioned are good--could have been more comfortable and strong, but they are sufficient. What led me to return this is the fact that sand dust was coming out through the main bag when I would drop the bag (drop, not slam). I thought I was imagining it, but then I open the main bag and there was sand inside the bag and there was sand leaking through the seams of the filler. It wasn't pouring out, but it was significant enough after just a week or simple use (clean and press, squats, thrusts, getups) that it didn't bode well. No, I wasn't using play sand or anything super fine). I returned this kit and and back on team GORUCK. for my sandbag use.Great sandbag. Very durable and the 2 inner liners come with allow for 2 different weights for training. Great purchase.Bought this as a father's day gift for my husband & he loves it!!if you like to throw your weights around, this is the bag for you. this bag wears you OUT!.. very tough, you toss it , drag it, flip it, and it hasn't leaked or ripped yet. no sign of stitching loosening at the handle and zipper is very sturdy. i even used this in the rain and it didn't soak up bunch of water. i carry mine in the back of the truck and get quick workouts in empty parking lots whenever i want.It’s a great add to functional training days and it’s early days but this thing seems bombproof. It comes with three sandbags so you can choose to use it at 50lbs, 75lbs, 100lbs or 125lbs depending on how many and which bags you put in it. Of course since you fill up the 3 original bags you don’t need to fill them at their suggested 25, 50 and 50lbs and can fill them up less for different values. I picked up two to use for farmers walks and have now built out a completely separate session using the sandbag. Great value.It's going to be tight fitting 75 lbs of sand into this bag; I was able to get 66 lbs in, but it's not going to fit another sandbag, so I guess my only option is pouring in sand to fill the cracks.Otherwise the bag has been good; seems to be holding up well.good quality and perfect for my needs!
